In vitro Fertilization

In vitro Fertilization is a fertility treatment in which the eggs of woman and sperms of man are combined in a special laboratory condition to create the embryo. Once the embryo forms it is transferred to the uterus of the woman through her cervix. It enhances the chances of pregnancy to a great extent. It can be used by the woman with blocked fallopian tubes, facing difficulty in conceiving, couples experiencing unexplained fertility issues and even single women pursuing parenthood.

The first step of IVF includes the examination of ovaries so that the exact time of ovulation can be calculated. Medications and hormones are utilized to stimulate ovaries to produce eggs. The eggs are then removed from the follicles of the ovary with the help of a needle. The eggs are immediately transferred to the incubator. The egg is injected with sperm to optimize fertilization. Once the embryo becomes ready, it is transferred to the uterus.
