Fertility in Women:

  • Infrequent Ovulation: When you do not have your periods regularly it could be because of the infrequent ovulation. Common reasons behind infrequent ovulation are body stress (Obesity, eating disorders, quick weight loss etc.) or hormonal imbalance (pituitary-gland problems, thyroid problems, polycystic ovary syndrome, and Adrenal-gland problems) which can delay or prevent the ovaries from releasing an egg.
  • Block in the Fallopian tube: This condition can prevent pregnancy by stopping the egg from traveling into the uterus. Scar Tissues can develop in the uterus as a part of complications of Miscarriage, Abortion, Uterine infections, a previous surgery.
  • Endometriosis: This is a condition which occurs when a tissue normally found in the lining of the uterus (endometrial tissue) happens to grow outside the uterus, usually in the abdomen, ovaries or pelvis.

Fertility in Men:

A man’s fertility generally depends on the count and quality of his sperm.

  • Hormonal Problems: Low level of Hormones made in the pituitary gland and testes.
  • Sperm Transportation Problems: Blockage in the tubes which leads the sperm away from the testicles to the penis can cause complete lack of sperm in the semen that is ejaculated.
  • Sperm Antibodies: infection or injury in the epididymis, Vasectomy could affect the fertility in men
